MARTIN
& SCOTT
Martin and Scott make their home in Heber Springs Arkansas where they own and operate Gnarled Tree Didjeridoos and Music. Together, they compose, produce and record original music and hand-craft traditional musical instruments. At the young age of six, Deborah Martin began singing for the church congregations in the small mid-western town where she was raised. Professionally, she started her long and adventurous career as a singer/songwriter in the folk clubs of the early seventies. The author of over 100 original songs, (with two solo recordings to her credit), Deborah is currently planning her third solo release. She plays the guitar, autoharp, dulcimer and flute and currently performs with her husband & music partner Preston Scott. In 1997 Deborah published her first book of original poetry "The Little Gnarled Tree".
Woodworking is another shared passion of Martin & Scott. Some of the instruments used on their recordings are made by them, personally. Using traditional methods and working with agave cactus and native bamboo, they fashion unique one-of-a-kind flutes and didjeridoos. Each is individually decorated and hand-tuned. These beautifully crafted instruments are regularly featured at fine art shows across the United States. Their unique musical style, being performed on their own handcrafted instruments creates a rich sound full of emotion and expression. Truly the music of Martin & Scott touches the inner heart of their listeners. Martin & Scott |
